What is a US DOT PIN?
A DOT PIN (Personal Identification Number) is an 8 digit combination of letters and numbers that are used to identify a motor carrier when they’re dealing with the FMCSA or the United States Department of Transportation (US DOT). Companies use the FMCSA PIN anytime that they want to access the company information on the FMCSA website. In other words, it’s an access code.
It’s important to note that you should only provide your FMCSA PIN to individuals or companies you trust to access your companies details.
